‘You Got Me’ is the most delightful of introductions to South London duo PELA, made up of Hannah Coombes and Olly Shelton. With familiar sounds to Marie Dahlstrom and Zola Courtney, they certainly do share sonic qualities with other musicians in that part of England’s capital. Perhaps where PELA departs is through the gentle infusion of electronica, which creates space and texture in unexpected warms. It’s a warm, intimate and intelligent production that we find ourselves tuning into, trying to pick out each subtle sample, loop and effect. ‘You Got Me’ is simple and reassuring, which is sometimes all you really want from music. - Hannah Thacker
